Financial Counseling

Pot of Gold

Everyone wishes they could find the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. That would take care of all their money problems. Until the pot of gold is found, the University of Maryland Extension offers financial help through the Financial Counseling Program. This free and confidential program teaches people how to manage credit, keep records, budget realistically, save and protect themselves with insurance. The counseling is provided by carefully selected and trained volunteers that will teach financial management skills and how to get ahead. They listen and offer good advice. You make the decisions. Call to make an appointment. You will answer some questions about your financial situation and are then assigned a qualified financial counselor. The counselor will contact you about attending the first meeting. Continue meeting with the counselor as needed. For more information about the Financial Counseling Program, contact Family and Consumer Science at 410-386-2760 or 1-888-326-9645.
